Sedgley Reservoir

The new waterproof membrane has started to be installed which is great news.

Once the membrane has been installed there is a drainage mat laid over the top to allow water to run off the roof into the perimeter drains. The soil that was removed is then placed back on top of the drainage mat and new grass seed will be applied. 

We hope the footpath closure isn't too much of an inconvenience for you all and we will open it as soon as we possibly can.

We have been on site for 2 weeks now and as you would have seen if you have walked past the site that we have made good progress.

The footpath remains open until after the bank holiday then we will be diverting it through the woods. 

It has been interesting talking to you all as you pass by and have shown an interest in the work we are doing.

I hope we have not caused too much disruption but as always please give me a call if you have any concerns.

Hello everyone

You may have noticed by now that we have started work on the reservoir site at Sedgley Beacon.

We had quite a few deliveries yesterday and today bringing our site welfare and machinery to site that we will be using to carry out the work. The main deliveries have now been completed so you should see much less activity going forward.

We are aware that the work we are carrying out will have an impact on the people that walk their dogs on the reservoir and we apologise for this disruption. We will be  keeping the existing footpath open on the reservoir roof for a few weeks before having to divert it to the eastern side.

The works are planned for 20 weeks but we are hoping to improve on this duration. We have already spoken to numerous people out walking who have shown an interest in the work we are doing. You will be able to follow the progress of our work on this community portal and post questions or replies to our updates throughout the project.
